Barbara Monty has been a successful trial attorney, managing partner of law firms, general counsel to an international company, trial teacher, mediator, and arbitrator. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants, been appointed as Judge Pro Tem and has worked in private law firms, public companies, and as in-house counsel to a national insurance company. Barbara has successfully tried to jury verdict major environmental, construction, product defect, wrongful death, business, land slide, fire, explosion, sexual harassment, toxic tort and personal injury cases.
Her clients have included individuals, contractors, homeowners, Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, banks, international auto companies and manufacturers. Barbara is listed in Who’s Who in California and Who’s Who in American Law, and has annually been deemed A-V rated by Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest rating of 10 out of 10 by Avvo, the national independent rating for lawyers.
Additionally, Barbara has served the legal community as a Director of Marin Women Lawyers, Marin County Bar Association, the Alternative Defense Institute, and for the Bar Association of San Francisco. She has been selected as a delegate to the State Bar Convention. She is an arbitrator and settlement panelist for courts throughout the Bay Area, and has been on the national faculty of the Liberty Mutual Insurance legal department and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and teaches in local law schools.
